Funeral Wednesday for Vets Kobberman
Sylvester "Vets" Kobberman, 77, of Remsen, died unexpectedly Monday, April 25, 1988 at his home here.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Rev. Dennis Sefcik officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home.
Mr. Kobberman was born August 27, 1910 at Remsen to Frank and Margaret (Ruba) Kobberman. He was reared and educated in the Remsen area. He was employed at Dorr Produce & Feeds for many years and later for Gengler Feed Service until retiring in 1973.
His marriage to Marina Bunkers took place April 24, 1935 at Remsen.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Larry of Remsen; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Pratt of LeMars; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Ted of LeMars; and a sister, Mrs. William (Luella) Blatt of LeMars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marina on Feb. 19, 1965; a sister, Miss Lucinda; and a grandson, Kenny Kobberman.
Casket bearers were Terry Bunkers, Gary, Jay, Jeff and Kevin Pratt and Marvin Schmitt.
