Mrs. F. Kobberman Funeral Held Today

Lifelong Resident Here Dies
at Home Early Aug. 9
Age 68 Years

Funeral services were held this (Thursday) morning in St. Mary's Catholic church for Mrs. Frank Kobberman, 68, who passed away in her home Tuesday morning after a long period of sickness.

St. Mary's pastor, the Rev. George J. Theobald, sang the requiem high Mass.

Mrs. Kobberman had been in failing health seven years and several times was a hospital patient. In spite of the best of medical and family care, her condition resisted and she became a bed patient at home 15 months ago. The end came at 8:15 o'clock Tuesday morning.

Lifelong Resident Here

Born on a farm southwest of Remsen April 17, 1887, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Ruba, early settlers in this community. Her maiden [sic] name was Margaret.

Married in 1907

Attending the nearby rural schools, she remained at home until her marriage to Frank Kobberman January 15, 1907, in St. Catherine's church at Oyens. The couple settled on a farm northeast of Remsen where they lived seven years, then moved to a farm southeast of town and finally returned to the old home place, the Ruba farm four miles southeast of town where they lived 16 years. They retired to Remsen in 1940.

Mrs. Kobberman, a lifelong resident here and a lifelong member of the Catholic faith, was a staunch member of St. Mary's congregation, a devoted wife and mother and sister, and a highly esteemed friend among her many acquaintances throughout this half of Plymouth county and beyond. She was possessed of many endearing qualities and during her long sickness gained much comfort and encouragement from her friends because of her splendid traits and general esteem.

Survivors

Surviving Mrs. Kobberman are the widower and four children -- Theodore, Sylvester, Miss Lucinda (at home) and Mrs. Wm. (Luella) Blatt, all of Remsen; a sister, Mrs. Joe Kobberman of LeMars; two half-sisters, Mrs. John Mensen of Wilmont, Minn., and Mrs. Mary Stein of Chokio, Minn.; and one half-brother, John Ruba of LeMars.

Wake, Services

Fisch funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements, and wake was held there Wednesday. Services at 9:30 o'clock today were largely attended. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Kobberman, Lawrence Kobberman, George Stein, Filverious Mensen, Norbert Ruba and Clem Kolker.
