Son of William Gallenous Bean and Julia Ann "Judy" (Dunaway) Bean. Sinclair enlisted in the 60th Ohio Infantry, Co F. on Oct. 14, 1861. He died during his Civil War service on May 25th 1862 in New Creek, West Virginia at the age of 20. Sinclair's twin brother, Sidney Bean, also enlisted in the same regiment. Sidney did survive the war and lived to the age of 82.
