Billy Gene Daniels, age 80, of Harrison, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Hospice of the Hills in Harrison.

He was born April 29, 1931 in Swain, AR to Roy D. and Lois (Neal) Daniels. He went to school in Harrison where he met and later married the "love of his life" Christine Riddle. He was in the Army during the Korean War and then returned to Harrison where he and Chrissy worked side by side for many years at Hudson's Supermarket and later at B&W Market #2. He drove a bread truck for Holsum Bread Co. for awhile, and worked for Billy Parker Construction, loved caring for his cows and making a huge garden to share with family and friends. He was fondly known as "Uncle Bill" and then later in life as "PaPa Bill."

He is survived by his wife, Christine (Riddle) Daniels of the home, a son Jack Riddle and his wife De of Harrison, a daughter, Jeanetta McCroskey of Springfield, MO one brother, Jerry Daniels and wife Judy of Harrison, four sisters, Helen Edwards of El Dorado, Kansas, Marietta White of Towanda, Kansas, Sue Simmons and husband Alfred of Harrison, Donna Holcomb and husband Billy of Harrison, Seven grandchildren, Jaclyn Reynolds, Jennifer Shorb and Nola Johnson of Harrison, Kelly Foust of Joplin, MO, Kenda Grider and Kara Bortner of Republic, MO. and Frankie McCroskey of Springfield, MO., 15 great grand children, and 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 3 brothers, Clyde, Dolan and Johnnie Daniels and 2 sisters Niva Jo Riggs and Minnie Greenhaw.
He was a faithful member of Capps Full Gospel Church where he was so proud to tell everyone that his nephew, Eddie Reed, was his pastor.

He was always a loving and devoted husband and has been a kind and loving caregiver to his wife for the past few years and a wonderful father and grandfather brother and uncle.

Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tom Langston and staff of Family Doctor's Clinic, Hospice House staff, Dr. Jim Langston, special friends, Wes, Mildred and Nadene Sparks, Capps Full Gospel Church Family, Adult Day Center staff, and all the wonderful friends and neighbors who have called, visited, and stood by Bill and the family during his sudden illness.

Visitation will be 6-8:00pm Friday at Roller Christenson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30am Saturday at Roller Christeson Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Reed and Reverend David Shekels officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery.

Those wishing to make donations to honor PaPa Bill's memory may make them to Hospice of the Hills, Boone County Adult Day Center, or Capps Full Gospel Church.
