Elmer Ross Close, 69, who lived on Route 4 in the Ridgeway community, died at 4 p.m. Friday, January 29, 1982 at the family home. He was born on January 19, 1913 at Ridgeway, son of O. O. and Annie Ross Close.
Mr. Close operated the Close Garage at Ridgeway for about 30 years and later was employed as a truck driver for Shelton Butane before retiring.
He was married to Laudelle Hood on November 18, 1933 in the Branom community. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Joanne Perkins of Fort Worth; a grandson, Mack Perkins; and two sisters, Mrs. Opal Waggoner of Rockwall and Mrs. Margaret Rogers of Canton.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Tapp Funeral Home, with the Rev. Francis Sales officiating. Burial followed in the Ridgeway Cemetery.
