Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 1999, at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church, Galveston, Texas, with Rev. A.C. Tyron officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 1999, at the Carnes Brothers Funeral

Mrs. Cooper was born November 29, 1925, in Galveston, Texas, to Albert and Marie Kennedy, She was a devoted member of Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated her life to her family, church and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bertha Louis, Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lewis Cooper of Galveston; daughters, Norsie Young of West Texas City and Mary Jackson and husband, Clyde of Texas City; sister, Mary Johnson of West Texas City; step-brother, Thomas Stell of Galveston; grandchildren, Antoinette Winston and husband, Quentin of Houston, Lasauna Hampton and husband, James of Texas City, Wenona Harris and husband William of La Marque, Terris Holloway of Chico, California and Elon Young of West Texas City; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, close friends and devoted neighbors.
Pallbearers will be Quentin Winston, James Hampton, William Harris, Terris Holloway, Clyde Jackson and Elon Young.
