CUMBERLAND FORESIDE, Maine— Kathrine S. Brooks, 92, formerly of Sharon, Conn., died Sept. 27, 2011 in Ledgeview Assisted Living in Cumberland Foreside. She was the wife of the late Charles D. Brooks.

Mrs. Brooks was born July 22, 1919 in Stamford, Conn., the daughter of the late Oscar and Louise (Kneilling) Schueler. She was a 1940 graduate of UConn. She married Charles in March the following year and lived in Stamford from after World War II until 1958 when they moved to Wilton.

She earned her master's degree from Fairfield University. She taught English and was head of the lower school at Low-Heywood School in Stamford for many years. Mrs. Brooks moved to Sharon in 1977 where she became actively involved with the Sharon Woman's Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Perkins of Yarmouth, Maine, two grandchildren, Kathrine and Daniel Perkins and one great-grandchild.
