SPARTA -- Funeral services for Lucille Howard, 74, of Sparta, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Jan. 20, from the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Wed., Jan. 19, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Howard died on Mon., Jan. 17, 2000, at NHC of Cookeville.
She was born in White County to the late Wiley and Annie England Luna. Mrs. Howard was a homemaker.
Her family includes three sons, Merrill, Gary and Dennis Howard, all of Sparta; a daughter, Diane Moore of Sparta; two sisters, Hazel Reed of Springfield, Ohio, and Ruby Hennessee of Sparta; eight grandchildren, Merrill II, Debbie, Beth, D.C., Tracy, Heather, Michael and Janet; and nine great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kevin, Shelby, Krysta, Kaylee, Madison, Allison, Hailey and Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Sam Merrill Howard.
Donations may be made to the Tommy Burks Scholarship Fund at Tennessee Tech University School of Agriculture.
Bro. A.J. Looper will officiate at the services.
