Obituary

Samuel S. Knott was born in Memphis, Mo., April 28, 1865, and died in the same house in which he was born, on December 13, 1904. On April 15, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Lou E. Knott, of Farmington, Iowa. To this union were born three children, Eugenia Lou, Mabel Savilla and Samuel Henry. Deceased was born, married and died in the same house, a rather remarkable coincidence. He united with the M.E. Church in 1893.

About five years ago Mr. Knott fell on the ice, sustaining an injury to the hip. Tuberculosis soon developed, which eventually caused his death. He passed away on Tuesday, December 18, after a long illness, seven months of the time being confined to his bed. He leaves to mourn his death a wife, three children, an aged father, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 14, at the Christian Church, Rev. J.W. Anderson, pastor of the First M.E. Church, conducting the services, assisted by Elder M.J. Nicoson. Interment was made in the Memphis cemetery. The bereaved family has the sincere sympathy of all in their loss.
