Eleanore Blackman (nee Nowack), age 81, of Lansing, IL passed away on Friday, September 30, 2005.
She is survived by her children: Darlene (Stephen) Secrest of Wixom, MI, Jim (Carol) Blackman of Lowell, IN; grandchildren: Cristi Dikeou, Brian, Brett and Linsey (fiance' Kevin Santelik) Blackman, Laurie (Kirk) Durall. Loving great-grandmother of four; nieces: Cheri Nowack and Carol (George) Dulaj.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrold of 31 years; parents: Harry and Ella Nowack and brother, Harry Nowack.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Eleanore retired from Thornton Fractional South High School as a secretary of the Dean's Department and Guidance Office for 20 years. She enjoyed genealogy. She was a member of the PTA, was a leader for the Girl Scouts and an advocate for T.F. South High School. Eleanore enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to your local humane society.
