Betty Griffith Ball, 83, of KY 194E, died Monday, October 3, 2011, at Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born July 16, 1928, at Nigh, the daughter of the late Trigg Griffith and Savannah Hunt Griffith.

She was a clerk at Hoffer's Grocery and a member of the Biggs Church of God.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ball, three sisters, Genevieve Hensley, Attie Lee Hoffer and Genetta Davidson, and one granddaughter, Heather Suzanne Taylor.

She is survived by three daughters, Patty Ball Griffith, Sandra Ball Hurley and Susan Ball Hurley, one brother, Billy Griffith, one sister, Jettie Lee Hunt, three grandchildren, Jennifer McCormick, Tara Griffith and Jody Phillips, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, October 6, 2011, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Coleman, David Kilburn and Larry Abshire officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Chloe Road.

Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
