Artie Weisel son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Weisel died of diphtheria Nov 16, 1897. He was 11 years 2 months, and 23 days old. Flora a younger child, had the diphtheria several weeks ago, but had recovered and was attending school when Artie was taken sick. He died on the eleventh day of his illness. The funeral services were held at the house o the same day. A few neighbors were present, and wreaths of white chrysanthemums were sent in by friends. The services were conducted by Rev. Arthur W. Partch. The interment was in the cemetery west of town. Artie was a bright, promising boy. He was in the sixth grade at school. He was a member, and very regular attendant, of the Presbyterian Sunday school.
