Obituary-Cecil Shearer, 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Lancaster, died Friday at Union Printers Nursing Center, Colorado Springs. Born Aug. 26, 1919, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Omer and Effie Harp Shearer. He was a retired construction contractor and a Baptist.

Survivors include four daughters, Joyce Walker of Garrard County, Ruth Cox of Lake City, Fla., and Virginia Wilson and Nancy Moore, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sons, Duke Shearer of Colorado Springs and Paul Pritchard of Fort Wayne; two brothers, William Shearer of Perryville and Omer Shearer Jr. of Stanford; four sisters, Lula May Camel and Flora Dailey, both of Lancaster, Christine Rutledge of Cincinnati, and Marie Whitehouse of Junction City; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Barry Delaney. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Note: Although Cecil was raised by his father and second wife, Effie Harp Shearer, he was the son of Mollie Phillips Shearer.
