Charles P. Lizer, 73, 1630 Deborah St., died at his home Sunday morning after an illness of several years. He had been a Rockford resigent for the past 35 years.

He was born Nov. 13, 1878 in Leaf River, the son of William and Isabel Lizer. July 4, 1904, he married the former Edith Steffa at Byron.

For 33 years, he was employed by the Ingersoll Milling Machine Company.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth C. Lizer of Rockford; two grandchildren of Rockford; two brothers, Daniel of Rockford and James of Pecatonica; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Angell of Rockford, and Mrs. Sarah Lutz of Byron.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Congregational Church at Byron. The Rev. Mr. Haggerty of the Byron church and Rev. C. J. Swanson of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd of Rockford will officiate. Burial will be in the Byron cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Rock of Ages funeral home of Byron.
