Kenneth C. Lizer, 84, of Rockford, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997 in Willows on Main after a long illness. Born May 20, 1913, in Byron, son of Charles P. and Edith M. Steffa Lizer. Married Maxine Diamond in Rockford on Oct. 5, 1940. Retired from Welders Supply Co. in 1982 after 42 years. Veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. Member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where he was very active with youth activities, Sunday school, choir and church council for many years. Former president of American Welding Society.
Survivors include wife, Maxine; sons, Kenneth C. (Kathy) Lizer Jr. of Fort Wayne, Ind., Stephen C. (Linda) and Paul (Mary Kay) Lizer, both of Rockford; nine grandchildren, Julie, Scott, Michael, Sarah, Erin, Emily, Kristen, Garrett, and Betsy; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant son, Terry David, and parents.
Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 with the Rev. James Bornzin officiating. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Memorials to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or Humane Society.
