Final Rites For George Seyller, 63, Are 10 a.m. Today

George M. Seyller, 63, a resident of Hampshire most of his life, passed away February 24, at Sycamore Municipal Hospital. He was born in Hampshire on June 26, 1895, the son of George and Louise Engle Seyller, and grew to manhood in that community.

He married Jesse Winans of Sycamore, November 8, 1930, in Sycamore, where they made their home for 13 years until moving to Hampshire.

The deceased wads a banker and cashier at the State Bank of Hampshire for 30 years, resigning this post in 1953. Since then he conducted the Seyller Insurance Agency in Hampshire.

He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 680 of which he was the first commander, V.F.W. Post 8043 and the Sycamore Elks. He served during World War I in the Black Hawk division in France.

His death is mourned by his widow; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Megaher of Oak Park and Mrs. George (Alma) Billings of Rockford; and two brothers, Joseph and Harry of Hampshire. His parents and five brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Clement Petit officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Sycamore. Military rites will be conducted at the grave by the Hampshire Posts of the American Legion and V.F.W.
