From the "Marshall Democrat News", Jan. 6, 1940. Ernest Lee Lynch died on Saturday, Jan. 6th, at 8:40 a.m. at Fitzgibbon's Hospital in Marshall. Ernest's death was caused by severe burns suffered Wednesday afternoon when he fell into a scalding vat while butchering hogs on the R. R. Halsey farm. Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. The body will be at the Hershberger Funeral

He was a member of the Marshall Christian Church.
