From the "Marshall Democrat News", Jan. 6, 1940. Ernest Lee Lynch died on Saturday, Jan. 6th, at 8:40 a.m. at Fitzgibbon's Hospital in Marshall. Ernest's death was caused by severe burns suffered Wednesday afternoon when he fell into a scalding vat while butchering hogs on the R. R. Halsey farm. Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. The body will be at the Hershberger Funeral
Home until the hour of the service. Mr. Lynch, 27 years of age, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Lynch, 303
East Mitchell Street. He was unmarried and lived in his parents' home. Besides the parents, he is survived by a sister, Irene Lynch, 3 brothers, Jesse, Robert, and Charles Lynch, all of the home, and his grandmother, Mrs. Lizzie Lynch who resides on North Ellsworth. He was a member of the Marshall Christian Church.
