Ada Beatrice Waites was the 5th of seven children born to William Martin and Mary Lee Nora Crow Waites. She was twelve years old when her mother died.
She married Roy Everett Skipper November 13,1926 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. While rearing their own family, They lived with and cared for Roy's grandparents until their deaths. The Skippers moved from the rolling piney hills of Ringgold to the flat fertile farmlands of Epps, Louisiana. They farmed until the time of retirement.
My fondest memories of Grandma focus around the warm inviting kitchen that always had a cake under the small metal cover, her "fluffy" belly which drew my head like a magnet during those long church services and the big feather beds made by my grandfather.
