Berlinda J. Espinoza, 49, passed away Sept. 24, 2011, in Raton. She was born March 9, 1962, the daughter of John and Mary Bustos Archuleta. She was a resident of Raton and a member of the Raton House of Prayer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lazario D. Espinoza, brother Edwin F. Archuleta, maternal grandparents Dan and Berlinda Bustos, and paternal grandparents Fred and Selena Archuleta.
She is survived by her daughter Apryll N. Lopez and Troy of Raton; son Jesse E. Espinoza of Raton; parents Mary B. Archuleta of Raton and John Henry Archuleta and wife Mary of Roswell; sister Bernice Sisneros and Leroy of Raton; brothers John Henry Archuleta and Liz of Roswell, Michael M. Archuleta of Albuquerque; grandchildren Anjelica Rose Lopez, Adrianne Michelle Lopez, Joshua Jude Lopez, and companion Joe Acevedo of Raton; nieces Veronica Bernal and Vanessa Najera of Raton; nephews John Henry Archuleta III, Zachariah Archuleta and Josiah Archuleta, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Berlinda was always known for her big heart and willingness to help those in need. Whether it be a hot meal or a place to stay, her home was always open. She enjoyed watching her son playing all his sports and seldom did she miss a game. Everyone knew when she was in the stands cheering him on. She was a wonderful mom, daughter, sister, and friend. She will truly be missed by many.
Funeral Services will take place Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wilfred Carrasco officiating. Rite of committal and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
