On Dec 14, 1971 at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Margaret Catherine McMillan, aged 77 years, of Ashern, Manitoba. Mrs.McMillan was born in Winnipeg on Dec 31, 1893. In 1933, she & her husband moved to the Ashern district. Prayers will be said Fri, Dec 17, at 9 pm from the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Ashern. Requiem Mass will be sung on Sat, Dec 18 at 2 pm with Father Dion officiating. Interment in the churchyard cemetery. Mrs.McMillan is survived by 2 sons, Patrick of Brandon & Gordon of Winnipeg; 4 daughters, Miss Dorothy McMillan & Mrs.M.Porteous (Margaret) both of Ashern, Mrs.B.Resch (Violet) of Winnipeg & Mrs.E.Olson (Joan) of Brandon, 1 sister, Miss Olive Porteous of Ashern, 2 brothers, James of Winnipeg, Thomas of Portage la Prairie, 23 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph (Pete) in 1969, a daughter Mrs.G.Sill (Corinne) in 1967 & a son Clarence in 1966. In lieu of flowers, donations. may be made to the Holy Cross Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Arnason Funeral Home of Ashern.
