EDGAR L. STOKES SR. Of 2709 18th St., died unexpectedly at 1 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was born in Altoona, June 3, 1894, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William (sic-Warren) Stokes, and married Maguerite Hewitt, who died Nov. 14, 1962. Surviving are two children, Edgar Jr., of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Miriam Fry of Mechanicsburg; one granddaughter, two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Rose Gathers, Mrs. Bertha Walker and Arthur of the city. He was a retired carpenter. Friends are being received at the Stevens Mortuary.
