Mrs. Emma Wood Died at Tecumseh
Mrs. Emma Wood, widow of Charles E. Wood and daughter of pioneer Talmage parents, died Saturday evening, Dec. 23, in the Tecumseh hospital. She had been ill since August.
Born Oct. 29, 1893, the daughter of J. H. and Caroline C. Damme, Mrs. Wood was graduated from Talmage High School in 1912 and the University of Nebraska in 1932. She married Charles E. Wood at her home in Talmage on August 30, 1936. Mr. Wood died May 12, 1967.
Mrs. Wood was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, a life member of the University of Nebraska Alumi Assn, the state Historical Society and the Eastern Star at Brock.
Surviving are brothers, Henry H. Damme, McAllen, Tex., William H. Damme, Talmage and Theodore F. Damme, Broomfield, Colo., five nieces, a nephew and other relatives.
Two brothers and a sister preceded her.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion United Church of Christ in Talmage with Rev. Robert Peters officiating. Burial was in the St. John's (McWilliams) cemetery.
