The Funeral Services of John A. Evans were held Saturday, August 3, at the Naples Ward Chapel, conducted by Bishop A.G. Goodrich. Music was furnished by a special mixed quartet under the direction of Byron Goodrich. The speakers were President Don B. Colton, Ernest Eaton, and A.G. Goodrich, all of whom referred to the cheerful and good natured disposition of the deceased, and of his excellent qualities as a citizen in the community. President Colton offered consolation to the family of Mr. Evans in a splendid address on the resurrection and the immortality of the soul. Though but a young man, the deceased had amassed considerable property in the shape of real estate and cattle. He was known as an honest, upright man by all who knew him. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in the valley, the cortege being over a half mile long, showing the respect in which Mr. Evans was held. The interment was in the Vernal Cemetery.
