Mrs. Frank Cowden of Downs Taken by Death on Thursday
Mrs. Frank Cowden, 67, died Thursday evening at 6:45 o'clock at her home in Downs.
Harriet L. Adams, daughter of Wyatt and Charity Bishop Adams, was born Jan. 12, 1859 in Downs township. She was united in marriage to Frank Cowden, July 3, 1877. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Charles E. and Howard Cowden of Downs; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Strayer of Downs and Mrs. Maude Genders of Bloomington. There are also four sisters, Mrs. Emma Wamsley of Hayworth; Mrs. Celia McBarnes of Holder; Mrs. C. W. Romine of Downs, and Mrs. J. N. Baum, 1008 East Olive street, and two brothers, M. L. Adams of Downs and J. T. Adams of Springfield.
Mrs. Cowden united with the Methodist church at an early age. Funeral announcements will be made later.
