Deepest sorrow spread over Smith Center, Tuesday, when a telegram came saying that Mrs. Lena Buchanan, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Burr, had just died at her home in Trinidad, Colorado. The fact that there had been no intimation here that the deceased was in a dangerous condition added to the shock to parents, sisters and brothers and host of friend.
A week ago yesterday Mrs. Buchanan became the mother of a boy baby, her first born, and all messages until Tuesday the word was that she was getting along nicely. It is probable that she took suddenly ill and expired in a few hours. Her body was prepared for shipment and started for this city yesterday morning and will arrive tonight. Funeral services will probably be held tomorrow afternoon, though at this writing no definite arrangements have been made. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery.
