Lawrence R. Bender, 25, died Monday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ralph Fidler, 100 North Seventh street, after an illness of five years. Born January 14, 1902, he was a son of Henry O. and Amy Bender, both of whom have preceded him in death. Surviving are two brothers, Walter Bender, Allegan, Michigan; and Albert Bender, Bloomfield, Indiana; his step-father, Daniel Nydegger of Stockwell; three half brothers, Bennie, Paul and Lee Fidler; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Fidler, at whose home he died; two uncles, Herman Bender, of Michigan, and Ray L. Paulin, of Denver, Colo., and two aunts Meta Rice, near Lafayette, and Maud Paulin, Lake Villa, Illinois. He was a member of Congress Street Methodist.
