NAPPANEE -Annabelle Evans, age 90, of LuAnn Nursing Home, Nappanee, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Unity Medical and Surgery Hospital in Mishawaka.
She was born December 31, 1920 in Kosciusko County to Jasper and Gertrude Wagner Fisher.
On July 22, 1939, she married Arthur R. Evans Jr. He preceded in death November 28, 2000.
Annabelle was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage, she was a maid and nanny for Dr. and Mrs. Ray Fleetwood. She was a member of the First Brethren Church and the former War Mother's Club in Nappanee. Spending time with her family meant the most to Annabelle. She loved taking pictures of family and friends and then enjoying those pictures was her favorite thing to do.
She is survived by a daughter, Vonda C. (Robert) Bedward Jr., Nappanee, sons, Phillip W. Evans, Muncie, Thomas D. (Elaine) Evans, Avon, IN, Dallas C. (Sharon) Evans, Indianapolis, daughter-in-laws, Joyce Evans, Nappanee, Betty Evans, Martin, MI, 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna L. Fought, sons, Roger A. and James A. Evans, sisters, Ruby Shultz and Charlotte Fisher, and brothers, John, Albert "Whitey", Everett, Richard, and Howard Fisher.
Friends may call Sunday 2-6 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, Monday at the First Brethren Church. Rev. Tom Schiefer and Rev. Bart Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Foundation.
