EDNA M. METZGER
HORNELL- Edna M. Metzger, 79, of Turnpike Road, died Saturday (Oct 21, 1989) at St. James Hospital in Hornell.
Born in Canisteo, Oct 22, 1909, in Hornell during her early life, attending St. Ann's School; and resided in Florida from 1952 to 1988.
On Feb 6, 1952, she married Howard "Pete" Metzger, who survives.
Along with her husband she owned and operated the South-Wind Motel in Ocala, Florida from 1971 to 1979.
Survivors, besides her husband, include two daughters, Sandra Benedict of Omaha Neb;, and Carol Berry of Hornell; one son, David Sherburne of Hornell; two step-sons, Gary Metzger of Canisteo; and Steven Metzger of Palymra, Pa.; one sister, Marion Nazzaro of Atlanta, Ga; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. today at the Dagon Funeral Home where funeral and committal services will be at 1p.m. Monday with Rev. Thomas Burr officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fremont.
