Mary "Polly" was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (McKnitt) Campbell. She married Jacob Agustus Newman Feb 6, 1833 in Campbell County, Tennessee. She & Jacob moved to Gentry County, Missouri abt 1850 where she passed in Nov of that year. They had 8 children: Malinda, Rebecca, James, John, Aaron, Isaac, Mary Jane and Sarah E.; six of whom lived to adulthood.
