TREMONT - James Manasco, 78, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born April 9, 1932, to William and Betty Uptain Manasco. He worked for American Motors and was an independent trucker for many years. He farmed and raised livestock for over 30 years and worked the past few years for Ramp&S Haulers until his retirement. He was a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener.

Burial will be in the Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley Manasco of Tremont; one son, Jimmy Manasco (Marcia) of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters, Nancy Sartin (Donnie) and Melissa Manasco, both of Tremont; two sisters, Jewel Chamblee of Tremont and Tula Colvin of Hamilton, Ala.; six grandchildren, Lori Thomas (Tony) and David Sartin (Courtney), both of Fulton, Amber Patterson (Leon) of Tishomingo, Joshua Wood (Lauren) of Fulton, Roman Wood of Fairview and Jimmy Manasco Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; and seven great-grandchildren, Whitney Thomas, Jesse Thomas, Savannah Sartin, Avori Sartin, Kix Patterson, Beau Patterson and Arabella Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Orville Manasco; and one sister, Beulah Braddack.
