Funeral services for Mrs. Gwendolyn McKoin Holdiness, age 83, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holdiness, a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was a graduate of the University of Monroe and also volunteered with the Ladies Auxillary at Morehouse General Hospital.
Mrs. Holdiness is survived by her son, Dr. Mack R. Holdiness and wife Robbie of Metairie, LA; daughter in-law, Linette Holdiness of Mer Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Dr. Gwendolyn H. Proctor and husband Dr. Drew Proctor of Calhoun, LA, Michael G. Holdiness, Jr. of Monroe, LA, Andrew R. Holdiness of Metairie, LA, Dr. Susan M. St. Pierre and husband Tommy of Benton, LA, and great grandchildren, Presley Drew Proctor, Jacob St. Pierre and Holden St. Pierre.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Holdiness; son, Michael G. Holdiness, Sr. and parents, Mock and Mayla McKoin.
