Her father was Johann Lehr. He died at Yankton, South Dakota (unknown burial site) in November 1880 upon arrival from Russia with five children. Margaretha (Lehr) Brosz, daughter of John and Katharine (Wahl) Lehr, was born on December 24, 1870 at Kassel, Russia. In 1880 she came to America with her parents, and settled at Emery, SD. On December 18, 1891 she was married to John Brosz from Tripp. He died in 1925. They lived on a farm near Tripp. Three or her ten children preceded her in death; two as infants and her daughter, Olga, Mrs. Theodore Freier. Survivors are: six sons and one daughter: Robert, William, Benjamin, Richard, Herbold and Oscar, and Ottilie Brosz.
