Mrs. Fred Juber, 77, Sioux Falls resident for the past 23 years, died at a local hospital Monday afternoon after a two day illness. she resided at 517 E. 5th St.
Funeral services will be held at the Banton Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. E. H. Tharp officiating. Buriel will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
Born in Dallas County, Ia., Nov. 4 1874, Mary Josephine Dewey was married to Mr. Juber in Des Moines December 7, 1893. Before coming to Sioux Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Juber resided in Park Rapids, Minn. Mr. Juber died here in 1944. Mrs. Juber was a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by three sons, John and Joseph, Valley Springs and Frank, Melvin, Ia.; two daughters, Mrs. Archie Stewart, Bismarck, N.D., and Mrs. Hazel Youmans, Sioux Falls; a brother Napoleon Dewey, Waseka, Minn; a sister, Mrs. Anna Gunn, Sioux Falls; 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Josie was a rather large lady with snowy white hair and had a kindly motherly disposition. She loved caneries and dogs . . . She was seldom seen without a dog close by. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting, arts which she learned from her mother. Both Fred and Josie
loved to go fishing.
