COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 09/22/2011
MILLAY - Charles Carroll "Chuck," "Charlie" Jr., 72, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011. Chuck was dearly loved by his family and friends. He had a huge heart for helping others in his community. Chuck was born in Knottsville, KY, one of 12 children. He lived most of his life in Louisville. Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired employee of Nibco, Inc. He loved being with his family and friends and he enjoyed his charitable work and memberships with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Carroll Millay, Sr. and Virgie Mae Knott Millay; one sister, Nettie Millay; four brothers, Dennis Millay, William Millay, Robert Millay and Harold Millay; and one grandson, Logan Millay. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Donna Millay; three sons, Christopher Millay (Alma), Edward Millay (Kaori) and Jeffrey Millay (Sherry); five grandchildren, Karen Millay Bennett (Tyler), Gabriel Millay, Skylar Millay, Connor Millay and Christian Millay; three sisters, Mary McCoy, Jane Payne and Linda Kellermann; three brothers, Mart Millay, Irvin Millay and Tony Millay; and many nieces and nephews. His service will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at his church, 10803 Deering Road, with burial in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 1-8 p.m. Thursday at W.G. Hardy Funeral Home, 10907 Dixie Hwy., Louisville, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
