Lily Mae (Lane) Allen, age 90, of Marshall, MI, formerly of Battle Creek, MI and Coldwater, MI, died Monday morning, September 12, 2011, Miller's Care Home of Marshall. Lily, the daughter of William E. and Esther (Burt) Lane, was born on March 7, 1921 in Charlotte, MI and was a life time area resident. She was a member of the Battle Creek Seventh Day Adventist Tabernacle; had been a foster grandparent and volunteered for The United Way and The Charitable Union. Lily was an avid dancer and loved to crochet with her friends. She was a soft-spoken woman who asked for very little, but gave a whole lot. "We will miss you, Mom and Grandma!" Surviving are her daughter, Patty R. (Chris) Kindred of Plymouth, MI; her two sons, Lyle E. (Glena) Carver of Inverness, FL and Stanley "Stan" W. Carver of Coldwater, MI; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Lily was preceded in death by her son, Jack D. Carver in 2006; her former husband and best friend, William Carver, Jr. in 2010; and by her two sisters and six brothers. The Memorial Service to celebrate Lily's life will be held on Monday, September 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek, with the Rev. Bruce Moore, Pastor of the Battle Creek Seventh Day Adventist Tabernacle, officiating. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Interment will follow at Ceresco Cemetery, Emmett Township. Memorial contributions in Lily's honor may be made to The Charitable Union, 85 Calhoun Street, Battle Creek, MI, 49017.
