Catherine Roell
Catherine I. Roell, 90, of Waldron, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Major Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1920, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Leo and Justine (Ruhlman) Beyer. She married Frank "Bud" Roell on May 3, 1941, and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1997.
Survivors include sons Joe (wife, Sherry) Roell of Waldron and David Roell of Shelbyville; daughters Donna (husband, Bill) Yarling and Linda (husband, Ted) Hodson, all of Shelbyville; brothers, Bernard (wife, Bertie) Beyer of Shelbyville and Bill (wife, Dora) Beyer of Evansville; sisters Gertrude Ariens of Rushville and Rita Teal of Shelbyville; grandchildren Shane, Dusty and Slade Roell, Melissa Coulter, Tammy Orem, Scott Yarling, Trina Koewler, Tarah Kirschbaum, Aaron Sprague and Joey Cover; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.
Catherine was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Shelbyville.
She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society.
Rosary will be held at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Road, at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, followed by visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Paul Landwerlen officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery.
