Adelina "Nina" Aguero, 73, of Belvidere died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, in her home surrounded by her family. Born Nov. 10, 1928, in Devine, Texas, to Domingo Vera and Carolina Gonzalez. She attended Devine, Texas, schools. She was employed by Daimler-Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 1993. She had been a Belvidere resident since 1970. Member of St. James Catholic Church. Survivors include sons, Adolfo (Laura) Ortiz of Rockford and Abel (Amie) Ortiz of Rockford daughters, Adriana (Nicky) Martinez, Amanda (Eduardo) Rodriguez and Ymelda (Roberto) Ramos, all of Belvidere 11 grandchildren nine great-grandchildren brother, Domingo Vera Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and sister, Ofelia (Lazaro) Rodriguez of Belvidere . The family would like to thank the St. Anthony Oncology floor and the VNA Hospice for all their help. Preceded in death by husband Adolpho Ortiz Sr. parents grandchildren, Adolpho Ortiz Jr. and Jaime Ortiz and three brothers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in St. James Catholic Church, Belvidere , with the Rev. Mark Campobello to officiate. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in Belvidere Funeral Home, 203 Logan Ave. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Memorials to St. Judes Children's Hospital. 9-4-2
