Obituary from flammfh.com:
Louis O Steel, 90, of West Haven, Utah, formerly of Plano, Idaho, died January 13, 2016, of natural causes. He was born April 6, 1925, in Plano, to James H and Myrtle Oakey Steel.

He met his sweetheart, Edna Dalley at Ricks College and they were married on April 10, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They became the parents of eight children: Sandi (Rod) Jones of Meridian, Sue McMurtrey of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dal (Margaret) Steel of Plano, Dean (LuAnn) Steel of Syracuse, Utah, Debbie (David) Davenport of Boise, Rock (Paula) Steel of Lindon, Utah, Lexie (Jack) Rolfe of St. George, Utah, and Matt (Michelle) Steel of Garden City, Kansas. They loved their children and dedicated their lives to creating a wonderful family. Louis is survived by his children, 50 grandchildren, 135 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Louis farmed for 45 years in Plano. He also drove school bus for 24 years. In 1971, he went to work as a custodian for Ricks College. He worked there for 24 years. He loved working with his fellow custodians and the many students that worked to assist them. He loved to camp, fish, hunt and ride his snowmobile throughout southeastern Idaho.

Louis was heartbroken when Edna passed away in 1996. He thought he was the luckiest man alive when he met and married Thelma Howard on August 12, 1998. This union brought three more children, 18 more grandchildren and 39 more great-grandchildren to the family. He and Thelma spent the next 16 years splitting time between Newdale, Idaho and St. George, Utah, where they made many new friends. His heart was again broken when Thelma passed away on November 28, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 23, at the Plano LDS Chapel, 5973 North 5000 West, with Bishop Kyle Williams officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
