He was born January 4, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska and lived in St. Joseph the past six years.
He had been a former resident of Lathrop, Missouri; Mulvane, Kansas; Lake Elsinore, California and Culver City, California.
Joe married Carol Shaw August 20, 1977 who survives of the home.
He was an electrical engineer for Northrup-Grummen and was active in Radio Controlled Airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and two sisters.
Survivors: wife, Carol; many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
