Mrs. William F. Altman, 65, of 2636 N. 5th St., wife of a prominent Sheboygan florist, died suddenly Wednesday night after a short illness, Nee Louise M. Barnstein, she was born April 26, 1887, in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Barnstein. She was a graduate of the old South Side High School and the Manitowoc Business College. Following her marriage to Mr. Altman at Manitowoc on April 12, 1910, the couple settled in Ogden, Utah, for two years. They made their home in Sheboygan since 1912. A faithful and active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Altman was a Sunday School instructor up to the time of her recent illness. Interested in dramatics for many years, she was a member of the former Fireside Players and had participated in several Community Player productions. She was also affiliated with the Sheboygan Woman's Club and the Sheboygan Music Club.
Survivors are her husband; a son, William E., Sheboygan; three grandchildren; a brother, Fred W. Barnstein, Manitowoc, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry B. Zenk, Eureka, S. D., and Mrs. Arthur Achtemeier, Monticello, Wis. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services have been tentatively planned for Saturday. Details as to the exact time will be published in Friday's edition of The Press. The body will lie in state at Gerend's Funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.
