Former Albany resident Mina M. Davis, 87 of Salem died Tuesday.

Born on the family farm near Miller, S.D., she was one of eight children of Ottie and Mary (Johnson) Arbogast. she finished school in Miller and married C. H. "Bud" Davis on Dec. 26, 1935 in Wessington Springs, S. D.

The Davises moved to Woodburn in 1936 and to Albany in 1941. Mr. Davis died Dec. 29, 1998 [1977]

Mrs. Davis was a clerk in the Linn County assessor's office for 20 years. She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church and was an active member and officer of the Degree of Honor for many years.

After retiring, she spent extra time with her grandchildren, gardened and exercised with her walking group. She moved to Salem in 1998.

Surviving are daughters, Shirley Bartosz of Salem and Joyce Depweg of Lincoln City; son Pat of Eugene; sisters Lila Waring and Wilda Waring, both of Miller, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
