From the Hondo Herald, November 15, 1902

Miss Emma Senne died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Hubert Zinsmeister, where she has been confined to her bed with typhoid fever for three weeks. All that loving hands and medicine could do was done but to no avail. Death robbed her from this world; at the time of her death she was 19 years, 2 months and 13 days old. She is survived by an aged father, 5 sisters and three brothers as follows: Mrs. Hy. Hartman, Mrs. Geo. Leinweber, Mrs. John Herzing, Jr., Mrs. Jacob Karm, Mrs. Hub. Zinsmeister, Messrs. Henry, Chas, and Fritz Senne. Besides these she leaves many more relatives and friends to mourn her untimely death. Her remains were laid to rest in the New Fountain cemetery surounded by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Rev. Geo. Czerkus performed the obsequies.

One less on earth;
One more in heaven.
