Funeral services were held in Casper Friday, Nov. 7, for Howard L. Kellogg, 81, of Casper, formerly of Rock Springs and Salt Lake City, who died Wednesday night, Nov. 5, at Memorial Hospital of Casper.

After services in the Memorial Chapel, Casper, with the Rev. Arch Hewitt of St. Marks' Episcopal Church officiating, the body was brought to Rock Springs Friday afternoon for burial in Mountain View Cemetery, with Masonic graveside services.

Pallbearers were Edwin Swanson, Sam Leckie, William Jackson, Albert Kolman, Dale Baston and Lloyd Hess.

A former long-time resident of Rock Springs, Mr. Kellogg started Howard's Café, which he operated for many years before moving to Salt Lake City 15 years ago. He had been a resident of Casper the past four years and lived in Salt Lake City 11 years prior to that time.

He was born Jan. 23, 1883, in Laramie and married Nell Hartney, Aug. 22, 1933, in Salt Lake City.

He is survived by his wife, of Casper; two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Dona and Mrs. Dale Stiles, both of Casper; a brother, Samuel E. Kellogg, Rock Springs; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Britton, Los Angeles, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the El Kalah Temple of the Mystic Shrine of Salt Lake City, the Consistory of the Valley of Cheyenne, the Rock Springs Royal Arch Masons, Lawrence Chapter No. 11, and Master Mason of Rock Springs Lodge No. 12 AF&AM.
