Wyse. - Caroline, daughter of Martin and Barbara (Roth) Eicher, was born on a farm north of Noble, Iowa, April 25, 1872; passed away July 9, 1950; aged 78 y. 2 m. 14 d. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, Wayland, Iowa, of which she remained a member until her death. On Feb. 1, 1893, she was united in marriage to Simon F. Wyse. Together they shared the joys and sorrows of life until Feb. 23, 1950, when her husband passed away. Several years ago she had suffered a paralytic stroke, from which she partially recovered. Death resulted from a fractured skull which she suffered in a fall. Surviving are 2 sons and 2 daughters (Fred L., Wuseon, Ohio; Oletta, at home; Leonard R., Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and Alta-Mrs. T. W. Stewart, San Diego, Calif.), 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (David Eicher, Milford, Nebr. and William Eicher, Wayland, Iowa), 2 sisters (Mrs. Sarah Boshart, Wayland, Iowa; and Barbara-Mrs. Peter Eicher, Smithville, Ohio), and many other relatives and friends. Her parents, 4 brothers 4 sisters, and one grandson predeceased her. Funeral services were held at the Sugar Creek Church July 13, conducted by the local ministers. Text: Ps. 23. Interment was made in the cemetery near by.
