Fred M. Abitz, 87, Wausau Route 4, died at 1:35 o'clock this morning in a local hospital. He had been ill 1 1/2 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Janssen Funeral Home. The Rev. W. H. Ortwein will officiate and burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
The body will be at Janssen Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Abitz was born Feb. 15, 1878 in Green County, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Abitz. In January 1901 he was married in Marshfield to Katherine Bever who died in 1928. He was a retired farmer of the Town of Rib Mountain.
Surviving are three sons, Martin and Christian, Wausau Route 4, and Lyle, Schofield Route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Arvilla Luotschwager, 1018 S. 11th Ave., and Mrs. Lucille Racinski, Schofield; a brother, Otto, 1014 S. Seventh Ave., a sister, Mrs. Ida Berger, Waukesha; 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
