Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late William Curtis Hazel and Mary Carrol Hazel Bell. Joyce retired from Kemet and was a member of Providence Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are six children, Keith (Melinda) Fulmer of Waterloo, Kathy Allen, Darlene Briggs, Julie Fulmer, all of Greenwood, Leslie (David) Wright of Waterloo and Laurie Lomax of Greenville; eleven grandchildren, Shane Allen, Parker Allen, Brooks Briggs, Amanda Briggs, Stephen Turnage, Dalton Turnage, all of Greenwood, Eric Fulmer, Kristie Hitt, Savanna Wright, Noah Wright all of Waterloo and Ryan Turnage of VA; and seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Allen, Jada Briggs, Caleb Briggs, Angelia Turnage, all of Greenwood, Jacob Fulmer, MaKayla Cole and Skylar Hitt, all of Waterloo. Predeceased by two brothers Oliver E. Hazel and William C. Hazel
