Doctor E.D. Naylor ("Doc") 92…, passed away Suddenly ,Wednesday evening Dec 17, 2008.

Everett Demont Naylor was born March 20,1916, in Bainbridge Ohio to the late Elmer and Sallie (Bernard) Naylor. He spent most of his childhood in Columbus, graduating from Columbus North High School and OSU school of Optometry. He played the trumpet in the Ohio State Band and was a member of the original Script Ohio performance on October 10, 1936. This October was the 72nd year reunion of Script Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, serving our country from April 1944 to April 1946 in the U.S. Army Medical Dept. with a rank of SGT. His Optometry practice was in Massillon until his retirement, when he became a "snow bird" traveling back and forth to Sun City Center, Florida.

Everett was a Paul Harris Fellow and faithful member of the Rotary International Massillon Club, recognized for a 50-year perfect attendance record and serving as past president, he also loved golf.

Dr. Naylor was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy (Armstrong) Naylor, his brother Bernard Naylor, son-in-law John Platt, and great grandson John Moren.

His family would like to thank the Laurels of Massillon for their kindnesses showed to him the last 2 ½ years of his life. The nurses and aides were wonderful to him and his great sense of humor remained up to the end of his life.

He was a long time member of St Mary Catholic Church, Massillon. Heitger Funeral Service- Massillon Chapel is handling the arrangements. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A M Saturday Dec. 20, 2008 , with Rev. Edward Gretchko , Rev. Robert Kaylor and Mgsr. James R. Kolp officiating.

Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to St Mary Catholic Church Massillon Rotary Club Foundation. Calling hours Friday 2 to4 and 6 to 8 P M Friday.
