Belton Ray Brazil, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009. He was born on February 24, 1933, in Itawamba County to Josh Sherman and Annie E. Crawley Brazil. He was retired from Dura Crates and Jesco where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ. He was an avid fisherman.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Onie Rea Brazil; one son, Tony Brazil (Kay) of Fulton; two daughters, Nella Bowden of Clarksdale and Lisa Jones (Terry) of Tupelo; one sister, Morine Barrett of Antioch, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Tonya German (Martin), Jeremy Bowden, Jordan Bowden, Josh Brazil (Kim), Leslie Brazil, Blake Jones, Parker Jones, and Hunter Jones; and seven great-grandchildren, Kyler, Brian Brazil, Zack Brazil, Mogan Bowden, Alex Floyd, Madison German, and Taylor German.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marvin Brazil; and three sisters, Jimmie West, Thelma Loyd and Faye Yarbrough.
