Dorothy Ollibell (Snelson) Sines, 81, died from congestive heart failure.
Born June 28, 1913, in Chehalis, to William Cowell and
Eliza Anna Gilmore Snelson, she lived there until school age, and then moved to Chehalis and Pe Ell. The family also lived in Walville and PeEll.
On Nov. 24, 1931, she married Melvin L. Sines. They lived in the Chehalis area before moving to Oregon.
They owned and operated M.L. Sines Railroad Construction Co., for 30 years. Their company built and repaired railroad tracks in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Her husband retired when she became ill. It was at that time they began 20 years of traveling the United States in their trailer or motor home.
They were charter members of the Wally Byam Airstream Club of Oregon and greatly enjoyed their travels. Winters were spent in the south and summers in the Northwest before they purchased a home in Wilsonville, OR. When Melvin Sines suffered a stroke, they moved to The Fountains in Clackamas until he died in 1991.
At the time of her death the survivors include a son, Melvin J. of Oregon City, Ore.; three daughters: Juanita, Marilyn and Darlene, 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Silas A. and Billy R. Snelson, a sister, Rebecca Snaza, and a grandchild, Kurt.
Ollie was cremated and is with Melvin in the Portland Memorial Mausoleum.
