Born June 28, 1913, in Chehalis, to William Cowell and

On Nov. 24, 1931, she married Melvin L. Sines. They lived in the Chehalis area before moving to Oregon.
They owned and operated M.L. Sines Railroad Construction Co., for 30 years. Their company built and repaired railroad tracks in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Her husband retired when she became ill. It was at that time they began 20 years of traveling the United States in their trailer or motor home.
